ALABAMA - Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum Birmingham, AL Located at the Barber Motorsports Park, this museum boasts 1100 motorcycles and five floors to explore! Bring your walking shoes! If you are already there to enjoy the AMA races, use some of your free time to check out this impressive collection of rides!
CALIFORNIA - Gems of Pala Pala, CA Ever wanted to hunt for your own gems? What about pink tourmaline? You can do it here at the Gems of Pala. It is a country store where you can buy a bucket of rocks to sift through and see if you'll be the lucky one to find a gem quality stone! The website linked here is out of date but the contact information is still accurate as far as we know. You do need to call in advance for availability.
COLORADO - Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum Colorado Springs, CO A nice collection of motorcycle history and about 50 vintage bikes are located here in Colorado Springs. The museum offers advice and services to special customers for motorcycle restoration. It also houses an extensive library of literature available to be copied for those restoring bikes as well.
ILLINOIS - Bishop Hill Historic Site Bishop Hill, IL A Swedish colony that was established in 1846, the village is now a place full of original buildings, shops, restaurants and history. Spend the day in the small country "Utopia on the Prairie."
Starved Rock State Park Utica, IL Breathtaking is the only thought that comes to mind. Gorgeous natural overlooks and waterfalls along the Illinois River will simply amaze your senses! There are so many things to do and see here you'll need extra film (or memory card)and batteries for your camera!

National Motorcycle Museum Anamosa, IA A massive about of vintage bikes, memorabilia and history awaits! This is the home of the "Captain America" bike from the movie Easy Rider. Well worth the trip for you motorcycle enthusiasts and history buffs!
NORTH CAROLINA - Sheffield Mine Franklin, NC Spend a couple of hours playing in the dirt and maybe your find yourself with a handful of sapphires or rubies! What? No kidding! If you're one of the luckiest ones, you find what the mine calls a "super honker" and it will be worth some bucks! Be sure to use the directions from their website and not from MapQuest or any search engine maps as they will have you on the wrong roads. Good luck treasure hunters!
Wheels Through Time Museum Maggie Valley, NC A museum that must be seen to be believed. This collection brings history to life since all the motorcycles on display are in working order! But the most exciting thing for us lady riders is their new exhibit, "The Girls" A Photographic History of Women in Motorcycling. Located in the main gallery, it showcases women riders from 1905 to 1955. This is a definite must see!
