Ridley Unveils New Line of Vintage Motorbikes

November 7th, 2008
Ridley has gone back in time...with new vintage motorbikes.

Starting production on November 1st, the company added to their line a series of vintage motorized bicycles. Beautiful in design, you could consider their new line more like antique reproductions inspired by the originals of the 1900's. There are a total of five different models with two motor sizes that range from 49cc to 70cc.

Vice President of Ridley Motorcycle, Jay Ridley, commented, "This is an idea we have been contemplating for several years." He continues, "As a novelty-this is the ultimate toy. The motorbikes have a real vintage look that will leave people scratching their heads."

One of the models is a limited edition marking the starting production of these motorbikes. But take note, the bicycles and engines are sold separately. The bicycle kit (meaning the bike itself requires some assembly) has a price tag of $1,440.00. The engines, as stated in the company's press release, will be $559.00. They go further by saying that shipping to the lower 48 states is $175.00.

Although these prices don't seem completely out of line, it's obvious that these motorbikes are "toys." If you're lucky, you could pick one up for daily or weekly use but realistically, these are more "show pieces." Beautifully made and designed, you can view the models at Ridley and see them for yourself.
